New Technological Breakthrough! MCC Huatian’s‑new 2‑roll Reducing‑Sizing Mill Successfully Put into Operation
On July 27, the bar branch line completed hot‑load commissioning for MCC Huatian’s EPC‑based 1# bar upgrading and new high‑speed wire‑rod project of Guangxi Guigang Iron & Steel Group. The self‑developed and upgraded HTPS350A pre‑stressed mill was officially commissioned simultaneously. Up to now, the equipment operates steadily with all performance parameters meeting design targets.
This marks a fresh technical breakthrough for domestic high‑end core rolling equipment. It further enriches the domestic high‑end mill product portfolio and provides proven technical‑equipment solutions for intelligent and high‑precision retrofitting of domestic bar production lines, demonstrating the solid innovation strength of central SOEs in empowering engineering projects.
The project builds a 700 000‑ton composite bar‑wire‑rod production line by adding core high‑speed wire‑rod facilities. Its bar branch line produces premium round bars ranging from Φ18‑60 mm. Developed to address existing bottlenecks in bar rolling industry, the HTPS350A represents MCC Huatian’s new‑generation pre‑stressed mill.
Compared with conventional units, this mill features outstanding core advantages of high rigidity and minimal elastic deformation, fundamentally guaranteeing rolling stability. Against its previous‑generation model, it realizes structural reinforcement and intelligent iteration with greatly improved automation. It supports remote precise adjustment and real‑time monitoring for roll gap parameters and pre‑stress settings, substantially boosting dimensional accuracy of finished rolled products.
Serving as the core 2‑roll reducing‑sizing mill, the new unit performed smoothly throughout hot‑load commissioning. All operating indicators satisfied design expectations and well matched production requirements for high‑grade bar products. It lays a solid equipment foundation for production‑line quality improvement and efficiency growth, and effectively helps Guigang Iron & Steel optimize product quality and strengthen core market competitiveness.
